HBO Announces 'Game of Thrones' Prequel Cast

As Game of Thrones fans patiently await the arrival of the show's eighth and final season to arrive in April, HBO has just announced the cast for the show's prequel.

Set to take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones's current storyline, the forthcoming prequel will star Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse along with a bevy of newcomers such as Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo who both played younger versions of Grindelwald and Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The cast will also include Georgie Henley (Chronicles of Narnia), Ivanno Jeremiah, from Black Mirror's "Shut Up and Dance" episode, Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Denise Gough (Colette), Sheila Atim (Harlots), and Alex Sharp (To the Bone).

The Game of Thrones prequel will start shooting in early 2019 and will take a closer look at the origins of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East, and the Starks of legend.
